I have tried my hardest to make sure that everything works in here and that there are no problems, but this does not mean this software is problem-free. I am not responsible for data loss on your device, or any other effects of using this program. However, you can rest assured that I use this regularly. To use a specific tool, select it from the menu. If you need help using that tool, just pick Help from the menu and it will assist you with whatever is on the screen. This program is not a device that will keep track of characters, items, etc. It is designed to eliminate looking information up on tables in the book and to speed up game play. I hope that this set of guidelines for the program doesn't hamper you too much.Pick the number of dice you wish to roll and the type of die to be rolled and you can see the results of the rolling and the sum of the rolls. Great for fireballs and the breath weapons of dragons. This quickly helps you find out how much experience should be given to the party, and how much is each person's share. The information is derived from the Dungeon Master's Guide, Core Rulebook II, page 166. Even the oddballs are included properly. The note about CRs above 20 is not adhered to, since I can easily just continue the calculation that the table starts. The effect is the same, but it also continues to have the players try to tackle CRs within 7 levels. If the players win versus a CR that is more than seven levels higher or less than seven levels lower than their average level, then a * is shown instead of a number. For these situations, please see Assigning Ad Hoc XP Awards, DMG p. 167.You can generate words, names, situations, riddles, characters, and loads of other things by downloading (or creating) databases and installing them on your Palm. You can get these databases from http://rumkin.com/projects/dnd_helper/ and feel free to email me if you want to know how to make some new databases. Pressing "Beam" will beam the selected database to another user. This is great for sharing your latest find. "Generate" will open the database and generate the data as specified in the database. "Delete" will let you remove databases that you no longer desire.By selecting the conditions that the players are travelling in, you can quickly determine how far they get. Obstruction is the amount of undergrowth. A bad surface is a steep slope or mud. A very bad surface is deep snow. The information is found in the Player's Handbook, Core Rulebook I, page 143, with a few exceptions of note: * Roads in sandy deserts are not permitted by the book. This program gives them a 0 movement rate for ease of calculation. * This program doesn't take into consideration that you can't run (x4) for 8 hours. It doesn't limit you to 8 hours of travelling per day. It doesn't list subdual damage for forced walks. This just makes things easier for number crunching. Make sure to still keep track of your movement rate, encumberance, fatigue, and everything else.Quickly turn those nasty undead creatures (or control them if that is your thing). The turning tables are found in the Player's Handbook, Core Rulebook I, starting on page 139. You may attempt to turn undead a number of times equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier (unless you have the Extra Turning feat). The closest turnable undead are turned first, and you can't turn undead that are more than 60 feet away or that have total cover relative to you. You may skip over already turned undead that are still within range, so that you do not waste your turning capacity on them. Turned undead flee you by the best and fastest means available to them. They flee for 1 minute. If they cannot flee, they cower. More rules may apply, see page 140. If you have twice as many levels (or more) as the undead have Hit Dice, you destroy any that you would normally turn.Press page up and page down (or use the scroll bar) to navigate through the table. If you want another table included, please suggest it.I'd like to thank the following major contributors: Playtesters: - Sarah Akins Ideas: - Scott Crawford: Created D&D Tools (similar, but less features).
